There was a news article a couple of weeks ago pertaining to some freeware must haves. I can't find that article in the archives. Does anyone remember seeing that?

PCWorld Magazine always publishes an issue with "100 fabulous freebies" or similar. They'll have it on their web site. (I think it was the May issue).

This was specifically posted by techspot I believe. It was labeled something like freeware 'must haves'. Most of the software were utility based I think.

I couldn't find this either, but I seem to remember something like it. Download.com has a freeware PC starter page, although I doubt that's what you're looking for. You might try a PM to Julio, he's the news guy, maybe he'll remember it. It could have been a link to another site, under "news around the web".
