Penang Char Koay Teow
Hi! Howard,
Thanks for the reply. I would like to introduce to one of Penang popular dish is Char Koey Teow. ![]() I am glad I live in Penang as I love hawker food. My favorite is Char Koay Teow. CKT are flat rice noodles fried with egg, seafood (usually prawns & clams), Chinese sausages and bean sprouts. It is a MUST have when you are in Penang. My favorite is the one at Pulau Tikus, opposite the police station. I always ask for mine to be fried with duck egg. Really brings out the aroma of the char koay teow (plus extra calorie & cholesterol too. Who cares about cholesterol when you are eating char koay teow? But unlike most people, I don’t like “ham” (clams). So I always give mine to my friend. But I do love the juicy plump prawns and squids on my CKT (yeah bring on the cholesterol). And I so don’t take any of the fried lard that comes with the CKT. The friend loves them, but I always nag him if he takes all of it. So he always leave a few pieces on his plate so that I will shut up. (with duck egg) Regards Sorry for putting up an odd question. Will not happen again.
