Help building phase change system

I've been looking into building my own phase change cooling system, and I have a few questions to anyone who may have answers. I've read up on what is needed to be done for the most part but I still have some concerns on the lenghts of the pipes. Does it make a difference on how long the pipe going to the condesor from the compressor is? And how long should the capillary tube be? I was also hoping for some ideas on how to make an evaporator. I would apreciate any input.
Thanks,

Joe
