Hi,
I'm kind of new at upgrading systems, I currently have:
Dell Dimension 9150, Pentium D 3.2Ghz
256mb Radeon x600
1GB Ram
Windows XP,

Instead of buying a new system, I thought it'd be easier to just upgrade this one, its not too outdated. All in all, i would like to run an nvidia 8800 GTX, I know I'd have to change the psu and add more ram... anything else I'm overlooking? Would it be worth it or would it end up just bottle necking?

Well you dont necessarily need to upgrade your RAM but it would be good to improve the speed. Also if you want to take advantage of Direct X 10 gaming then you'll need windows vista (only if you want to). And has your current computer got an AGP slot or a PCI-E, if it has an AGP then you would need to get a new motherboard but i think you'll probably have a PCI-E, best to check before you buy the card.

The rad x600 is pci-e so no worries about upgrading to the 8800. You also have a 3.2GHz dual core cpu on a socket-t (LGA775), so you can upgrade to a cored2duo if you like which would put some ooompphh into your system. I'd also recommend adding another stick of ram.
