Looking to quieten things down on my Celeron 2.6ghz mobo I've replaced the original cooler with a Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu and Fanmate.
With the Fanmate turned low the machine is wonderfully silent, and maintains a nice low temperature. But the fan speed is insufficient for the machine to boot
. If I turn up the speed it boots OK , but is louder.
Having looked in the BIOS (Imperial 845GV mobo) there are no facilities to either disable the CPU fan speed sensor, or to set a lower limit.
Any thoughts on how I could 'trick' the system into believing there was a higher fan speed at start-up?
Thanks,
Ricky
