System specs
A message for all newcomers

It would help us to help you, if all new members would fill in their system specs (specifications) in their user profiles.

You can do this by clicking on the user profile at the top of any page. Go to User Profile > Edit profile > Set "System Specs" to YES, then add your system specs information and you are done!

Specs we need to know are as follows.

Mobo (motherboard) make and model.

CPU (central processing unit) make and model.

Sound card make and model.

Video card (graphics card) make and model.

How much ram (memory) you have.

Hard drive make model and capacity.

What psu (power supply unit) you have. You may need to open your case and look at the label on the psu itself to answer this.

Optical drives (cd-rom's/cd-rw's/DVD-rom's/writers etc)

If you don't know your system specs, that's not a problem.

You can download either the free Everest program from HERE or the free SIW program from HERE. Both these programs will give you lots of info about your system.

I also suggest you read SNGX1275's Guide to making a good post/thread.

Thank you very much.

Regards Howard

That's a very good breakdown of all of your system specs.. Except i think you misunderstood one thing.

Rather then putting your system spec's in a post (as you did) you should put your system spec's in your profile. That way, anytime you post with a question about your system, someone could simply click on your TechSpot profile to see your system specs.

If you scroll to the top of this thread's window, you should see Edit Profile displayed (along with other options). Click Edit Profile then look in the new window along the left margin and click Edit System Specs and then place your system specs in your profile.

Just wanted to add that when you're finished filling up your system specs, choose Yes in the drop down menu on the same page so whoever wants to help you can do so without having to open your profile.

@bluetoffee2007, you should take a look at this thread.
