System Crash - No Operating System CD, What to Do?

Hi there everybody,
I've never posted before, but am in something of a panic. My laptop has crashed and I'm pretty sure it's the hard drive. So I'll need a new one, which is fine. But I moved house recently and cannot find my operating system CD anywhere! It's packard bell notebook. Is there anywhere I can get my hands on one for free or will I have to buy one?

Many thanks for your help

try a contact with PB as the OS and system restore Cd will be specific to your machine. If no luck then you can take the long way which is to fit a replacment HDD and then use an OS install CD to match the OS sticker on the underside of the laptop before installing all the drivers and software manually. If in doubt, come back to us.

You should really start a new thread - perhaps a mod will do that for you?
Anyway - what are you doing when the BSODs happen ?
