Wrong baseplate?

I recently bought this heatsink/fan from newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...2mm+CPU+Cooler and was wondering how can i get a baseplate with the 3 tabs on each end? Mine is currently installed with just 1 tab on each side and it's not going to fit. I have the AM2 socket which it says it supports. Any idea how i came by this issue? Do I have to order another baseplate or call someone?

Won't the cooler fit using only the center hole to the baseplate or CPU socket?

like magic said, if the one you can use is the center one, you should be fine.

my aftermarket cooler only allows me to connect one tab on each end (the center one) and it holds it down just fine.

I tried, but it is way to loose to hold in place.

did you lock it in place with the lock? disreguard this question if you did.

the box that cooler came in , did it have just one adapter or did it come with multiple ones?

if you have like 40 extra bucks and your case is big enough, try this one out http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16835128014. i know it fits am2 boards as this is the one i use on my x2 6400.

its a beast tho allmost 6inches tall.

Hmm, sounds like you got a deficient box, it should have come with a 3 clip AM2 base plate, or what's the point? Return it and go for something Zalman..they're the best, or demand a properly stocked box.
