Hello,

Been having a few problems off late..All sorts of errors.I tried most of the tests as suggested in the sticky thread but I am posting the minidump here in hope someone might be able to spot the cause of the error.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The two dumps that were of help (the others gave too general information to be much help) both cited the 0x8E error.

These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

The driver cited is vtdisp.dll which is a VIA/SG3 integrated graphics driver.

The hardware issue cited is memory corruption.

First - Run MemTest for a minimum of 7 passes. if you get errors you have bad RAM and it must be replaced. If you have more than one stick of RAM run this test on each individual stick to see if one or all need to be replaced.


Second - Update your onboard graphics drivers, but first run MemTest. If you do have to replace RAM see if that brings you stability first before updating your drivers.
