Nvidia Shield and Shield Tablet owners can now stream games from the company's Grid cloud gaming service in 1080p60 quality using the latest Shield Hub Beta app.
To get started, you'll obviously need one of the two aforementioned devices. Nvidia also recommends an Internet connection of at least 50Mbps (30Mbps minimum) and a Shield-ready router. Other routers might also work but the ones on the list have been optimized for the service. An HDMI cable to connect the device to your TV is also needed.
You'll need to join the Shield Hub Beta community using the same Google account you use on the Shield device if you haven't already done so. From there, you need to sign up to become a tester using Google Play. Next, go to the Google Play store on the device and search for the Nvidia Shield Hub page. Tap the "update" button, let it install and you should be golden.
Nvidia notes that there are more than 35 games in its catalog that now support 1080p60 including Batman: Arkham Origins, Devil May Cry 4, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Saints Row 3 and Dirt 3 Complete Edition, just to name a few.
The Grid service is available completely free for testers through June 30, 2015. Nvidia hasn't yet published details regarding a final release date or how much it'll cost per month.
