Benchmarks: Real-World Applications
Despite their average file transfer performance, the Crucial MX100 512GB and 256GB SSDs performed exceptionally well in our game installation test. The MX100 512GB took just 94 seconds, a second faster than the SanDisk Extreme II 240GB and OCZ Vertex 460, while the MX100 256GB was three seconds slower than the larger 512GB model, but even so it was on par with the OCZ Vector 150, Samsung SSD 840 Evo and Samsung SSD 840 Pro.
The virus scan performance was particularly impressive as the Crucial MX100 512GB took just 41 seconds, while the MX100 256GB took 42 seconds, or about 1-2 seconds faster than most of the SSDs we've tested.
