2 computer ethernet want to access entire hdd

host XP on one computer and Vista on other computer. I can share files and folders. Is it possible to access the entire hdd on XP by Vista and vice versa?

yes it is possible, but highly undesireable (or maybe better said) UNSAFE.

Sharing the whole drive would expose you to having one accessing the Share
to change, modifiy or corrupt your system beyond repair.

This kind of sharing is normal in a corporate environment when there is a
Domain Controller; this is what allows remote updates from a central site
by the admin.
