HI,
First the facts:
One Maxtor 60 gig 7200 rpm disk
One W.D. 60 gig 7200 rpm
One Seagate 200 gig 7200 w/8M cache.
1 gig pc2100
XP2100 T-bred
Soyo kt333 dragon ultra platinum mobo w/HPT372 udma/ata 133 raid controler
Win Xp Pro sp2
A friend just gave me the Seagate as he knew I will be doing alot of video and sound editing and I needed some more room.
It is time to reinstall my os, and I would like to try a raid-0 array.
My plan:
Primary IDE master = 200g Seagate partitioned as such
10g - Os
10g - Programs
20g - Games
40g -Visual (movies, pics...)
40g -Audio (mp3's , Wav's)
20g - data (doc's, saved mail, ect.)
10g -Temp (Temp. Tmp. downloads winrar extractions....)
50g - Storage (final resting place for the vid/audio files I create/edit. backup files)

HPT372 Raid-0
maxtor 60g on channel one, W.D 60g on channel two with the array partitioned like so:
2g- swap file
59g - Video editing
59g- Audio editing
Or should I:
2g -swap file
118g - editing

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

You have too many partitions there IMO. You are bound to run out of space on some of them sometime.

I would join Programs+Games and Visual+Audio and rethink the sizes.

Do the 118GB editing thing on RAID0 too. If you split them then the second partition will end up deeper in the disk and will be permanently slower. And again, more partitions means less usable space.
