A Graphics Card?....So Much Choice!!!

im looking for advice on a graphics card. I just bought a new game (Silent Hunter 3) but my old worn out graphics card cant play it. i have a limited budget of £50-£70 (i want to pay as little as possible) can anyone suggest a graphics card which will enable me to play this game?

any help or advice would be great

everyone wants to pay as little as possible. a used ati radeon 8500 or an nvidia geforce fx5500 should be sufficient and cost you what you mentioned. the hard part is finding said parts.

They dont include postage, the 9700 is the best I can fing for your price range, I always choose ATI, smaller and need less power, but if you want a Nvidia i recommend
XFX GeForce 6200 256MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail £70.44
However i'd still go with the ATI, in my opinion It has better performance.

However, a cheaper one is the
HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon 9550 128MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail £45.24
however, if possible get the first ones i recommended
Unfortunately, getting a good, at least half-year-at-high-settings card usually requires expendature of at least £100
If you can stretch to that, id thourourly recommend the Radeon 9800PRO, its a great card for about £110 average

Ati Radeon 9500's are very cheap and can easily be overclocked to a 9700 with not effort. This is because the 9500 has 8 rendering pipelines!!!! but four are locked by Ati. Simply get the Softmod drivers or any other overclocking program and it will easily play games!

But otherwise you can get a 9600 Pro for £71!,

Look on www.ebuyer.co.uk for good prices, Ati Radeon 9600, 9700, are very capable.

A nice Geforce FX6600 can be bought for £86 if ya willing to pay a few extra pounds....and they well worth it, plus they have DX9 compliance, a good UK online seller I use is www.microdirect.co.uk
