Access points trouble

My goal is to try and set up a room upstairs and about 100 feet away from my wireless router. I currently have a repeater set up with it and doesn't work real well and it drops the connection. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? If I decide to run cable from my router am I going to lose speed?

Each level of the house need access points.. Get a another wired switch and don't use the one in the wireless router.... This was made very quickly so it's not so fancy...See how I do it

WAP - wireless access point
WBG - wireless bridge
MVP - MediaMVP use to network video / audio media
CM - Cable Modem
WD- Wired Router
