i have a dell xps gen 5 with motherboard OGCO68

cipset Intel i955X
with a intel pentium D 830 3.0Ghz

current memory
2x512MB PC5300 DDR2-SDRAM 667Mhz with CL 5-5-5 running Dual Channel

which would be smarter and run better

adding

$200 (Kingston)
2x512MB PC5300 DDR2-SDRAM 667Mhz with CL 5-5-5 running Dual Channel
or
$310 (Kingston)
2x1GB PC5300 DDR2-SDRAM 667Mhz with CL 5-5-5 running Dual Channel

It all depends on what you use your computer for really.

If you just have basic needs 2x512 is all you need. Even for gaming, there is not much of a noticable difference in going from 1 gig to 2 gigs. That money is best spent elsewhere.

gaming is a must indeed, i have CS:Source along with HL2 on it now, as well as the FEAR demo, and cant wait for FEAR this november

money isnt really an object here as the memory is a gift from the parentals

my real question is how will the mobo react due to the fact that 2 chips are 512MB and 2 chips are 1GB

as long as i put them in pairs will it work fine?
