Hi all,

I've just switched to using a router from my old USB modem - wish I'd done it ages ago.

I've a very simple question: as my router is permanently on, will it be accessing the internet whilst I'm not actually logged on to my PC?

Sorry if that's a little confusing - basically I have a usage cap from my ISP and I wasn't sure if the router would be continually accessing the internet and hence using up my allowance.

I've just read that and it sounds a bit daft  but answers appreciated anyway.

(Oh my router is a Netgrear DG834.)

It's your PC that makes requests and accesses the web, not your router. You can leave that router on 24/7 if you like, only costs energy.
