AGP8 in a AGP4 slot

Yes you may ask what am I doing with a AGP4 motherboard?
Lightning blew two of my main MB's. So I am on my spare socket 370.
And yes I unplugged the power and the phone line but forgot my broadband cable. ALOT of damage.
Any way enough of the small talk.

My question, will a AGP8 video card run in a AGP4 slot?
I know the voltages are different 1.5v and 0.8v.
I am concerned about damaging the graphics card at the higher voltage.

You can.

The AGP8X is a backward compatible with AGP4X.

So it will be fine, as long as your card has three tabs to connect the AGP4X.
