We Have a Winner........

Tom's hardware shows the AMD as a winner, a good buy since AMD was forced to drop their prices due to the C2Ds. The only additional question that should be asked is this: Since all Tom's Hardware tests were run at stock speeds, would the Intel chip be a better choice if you were going to overclock? I don't know this answer, but I'm sure that somebody has some input that could help. Well?

captaincranky, if the Core 2 Duo E4400 (2MB L2 cache 2.00Ghz 800MHz FSB) is all u are looking at then stay with the AMD, the E4400 is one of the slowest of the new intel processors and Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (2.5GHz 1MB L2 cache)will probably beat it considerably, altho if u were going to go faster the intels are faster but both are good processors.
