Annoying computer freezes

my computer keeps on freezing, whenever i am on for a few minutes. i have checked my computer, and there is no spyware, and no viruses either. i installed SP2, but that was after my computer started freezing, and even then, i had to do it in safe mode so it wouldnt freeze. (it doesnt seem to freeze in safe mode, but i cant do anything in safe mode)

this seems like a unusual case, so it may seem hard to give a diagnosis...

what are the specs of your computer? is it newly built? give us a history....

Check if there is an updated graphics driver. Inot try re-installing the current one or even a previous one,

i doubt its the graphics driver.

its specs are:
AMD Athlon 1000; 512MB RAM; NVIDIA Geforce FX 5700.

I've got Win XP pro version 2002 with SP2 installed.

Hope that's enough info...
