Annoying spybot/virus

I think i have a virus or a spybot on my laptop, it keeps running a disk check at startup. Spybot comes up with the dialoge box that allows it or denies it, and i always push deny. But, it still runs it at startup, and its getting annoying.
But, it seems this virus is doing more good, its keeping my disk in good condition

specsell inspiron 3500, 333mhz pentium 2, 256mb ram, 4gb fujitsu, win xp pro sp2.

Allows/denies what ? The checkdisk - select allow The spyware - select deny
