Antivirus wont work

every time i try and my anivirus it says that another task is already running. is there a way i can find out what that other task is? im using windows xp home and the antivirus program is windows live onecare.

Have you tried uninstalling the virus program totally and re-installing it?

Have you looked at your task manager? Check to see if you see the same program running here. Make sure its right program. It will say the name and who is using it and the memory its using. Never delete a program running on syste. Its safe to stop the ones using your name

it works now.
i ran appwiz.cpl and uninstalled style Xp then removed the third party kernel and finaly reinstalled AVHotfix KB914882.
