aquiring network address?

i am trying to connect 3 computers to a standard home network via a medion router.

2 of the computers will connect correctly and are able to access whatever needed. the other computer cannot, as soon as i conect the ethernet cable and connect to the network, it doesnt connect it just says aquiring network address.

what am i doing wrong here (if i am that is) ?

try START - RUN - CMD

ipconfig /flushdns
or
ipconfig /renew

Some neat programs out there for free (freeware) hoverip allows you do ping under windows GUI no dos windows here and run ipconfig under GUI no dos windows here and release and renew the NIC card. Also shows you the status of the card if it's being seen an etc.. A bit more than you need but it works.

I use WS_Ping Pack Pro to solve a lot of issues if they do show-up but the HoverIP is free as the WS_Ping Pack Pro is not... Flushing the dns or reboot the system usually clears up the miss. But if you increase your DNSCache size you won't have to worrry about the flushdns anymore.
