ATI 9700 Pro and Service pack 2

After I downloaded XP service pack 2 , I can not play any games on my PC
I know it the service pack because I can uninstall it and the problem goes away. I have all the updates for my ATI 9700 Pro and some my friend has given me I didn't have. He has almost the same computer as me and he doesn't have this problem, any ideas.

Some solution to your problem... Security Center.

Reconfigure your Security Center by accepting "game title" and remove your "game title" from exclusion in firewall opinion.

My opinion ... Windows XP Service Pack 2 Sux.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

The correct way to install SP2 is after a format and reinstall of Windows then without doing any other updates install SP2. Then and only then should you do any updates.

Having said that, it is my opinion that SP2 is somehow system dependent. Please note this is only my personal opinion based on my experiences with SP2.

I have installed SP2 twice on my system and twice I have had serious problems with it and ended up having to uninstall it.

Also please be aware that there maybe patches available from your game/s manufactureres that may solve your problems.
