Help!

I'm selling my AMD Athlon XP 1700+ ; but a buyer is asking me if it will run or if it is compatible w/ a socket A mobo... and i'm not familiar w/ it.

will it my processor run on a socket a mobo?

THANKS!!!

All AthlonXP processors are socket A, so no worries there. But every socket A motherboard is different. There is no gaurantee that just because he has a socket A motherboard that it will run ALL AthlonXP cpus.

The buyer needs to go to his motherboard maker's website and check the "supported CPU" list to confirm. I don't think there are any socket A boards out there that would have a problem with a 266Mhz FSB so he/she should be fine, but always good to confirm.
