This entire comment reads of heavy projection. Nothing you have written couldnt be equally applied to any democrat. Republicans are far from perfect, but to act like they are the only ones that willingly refuse to understand the rights of the american citizen is disengenuous at best.
Well, when our government tried to force everyone to stay home for a year plus, and we told them to screw off, they LISTENED. This is something that mystifies most australians (and europeans as well) who go along with whatever insane BS their government comes up with. If the american people truly do not want something, the government listens to the people isntead of forcing it through anyway.
The same things happened during the flu pandemic of 1918. There was debate over whether masks helped even though there was plenty of evidence that they did help and there is plenty of evidence that they helped prevent the spread of COVID. So the lesson should have been learned in 1918. But yalllqaiduhs freedumb is more important than contributing to the prevention of the spread of the virus and not contributing to the deaths of your fellow citizens. Uh-huh. That's respecting the rights of your fellow citizens all right. So your argument is that the red side decided to ignore science and damn the rights of anyone that disagrees with you? That's what I call respecting rights - not.
Also, when a mob of angry rioters comes into your neighboorhood, and the police do nothing to stop them, holding the big scary rifle makes them fall into line. Plenty of videos online that show the rabble rouses that burned minneapolis, chicago, st louis, portland, ece getting real quiet real quick when they went outside of their tiny urban comfort zones and found the local populace visibly armed.
And two prominent JAs got convicted for brandishing on video, no less. Oh, and peacfully storming the capital (that is, if you call peacefully breaking through barriers like doors and windows, beating capital police, not to mention spreading red feces where ever) is perfectly fine. I think your spin that all Democrats condoned the George Floyd violence is BS. But go ahead and deny there is a problem with how non-white people are treated by police in the US as if the outrage that boiled over and the deaths at the hands of police are not symptomatic enough.
I agree with
@Beerfloat that there are plenty of "American rights loving Americans" that cannot live with the results of a fair and unbiased election. And before you try to argue that the election was rigged - numerous audits have been conducted and even those that were controlled by conservatives/republicans, and, as such, highly partizan, e.g., Arizona, NH, etc., found NO EVIDENCE of MASSIVE FRAUD that the orange clown claimed was the reason he lost, and kept losing in 60+ court cases - including being decided against by his "employees" of SCOTUS.
Most americans, who pride themselves on having personal freedoms not reliant on big daddy government, find that to be reason enough.
The simple truth of the matter is that "big daddy government" (talk about projection) is necessary in any modern civilization. Without that, I bet there would be plenty of people in the US, and elsewhere, who would welcome a return to a state of the state similar to how the movies have portrayed the Wild West days.
There are plenty of JAs out there on both sides, I agree. That's why the US founders established the structure of the government as it is.
