Auzentech to Develop Sound Card Based on Creative X-Fi(TM) Chipset

By doing this Creative actually lost its competitive advantage to its competitors by licensing it to others. What do you guys think? its a good or bad move?

short term maybe can collect license fees, but long term might erode its own brand name & allow competitors to outshine them if they can do better with the X-Fi than Creative

But that would be good for us consumers. More choices, more configurations and options. Also, doesn't Intel, ATI and others license their chipsets to partner companies?

licensed out is better for consumer, as more consumer able to experience X-Fi, but not sure if it will be good for Creative

If their drivers are better than creative' I am all for it. I would much rather see a soundcard made by nvidia though...

Creative has been in the game a long time, dont you guys think they had several board room meetings about this very subject before they decided to license. I dont think they will f** themselves.
