bad game lag

ok my Nvidia 8500 GT has 512 MB ram, my system has 1GB ram.
any game i run lags bad, do i need to bring my system up to my video card,or
bring my video card down? help pls thank you.

What graphics adaptor did you use before? Did these lagging symptoms begin after the new graphics install? If you upgrade, look at the XFX 8600 GT XXX. (32 stream processors, 620 mhz core clock, 1600 mhz memory,1190mhz shader clock and it's GDDR3 with directX 9 and 10), for $149. There's even a $20 rebate offer with it. That was @ Tiger D.

bad game lag

i was using onboard video.i thought i bought the Nvidia 8500GT 256mb.
what got in the box was the Nvidia 8500GT 512 mb.
or so thats what dxdiag says.
