When my computer crashes I keep getting an error message involving BCcode. What is this? And how can I prevent it from crashing again?

Print the full error message here, and if dumps are made, zip up 4-5 and attach that zip-file.
Hopefully cpc2004 will take up on it.

I have the same problem. Here is the codes.

BCCode : a BCP1 : 0000E01B BCP : 00000002 BCP3 : 00000001
BCP4 : 806F 2A7C OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1

This is running me crazy. Any help would be really apreciated.
TIA!
BB

Probably it is faulty RAM. When Windows crashes with blue screen, it writes a system event 1001 or 1003 and a minidump to the folder \windows\minidump. Check system event 1001 and 1003 and it has the content of the blue screen

Event ID: 1001
Source: Save Dump
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.The bugcheck was : 0xc000000a (0xe1270188, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804032100).
Microsoft Windows..... A dump was saved in: .......

Event Source: System Error
Event Category: (102)
Event ID: 1003
Description:
Error code 1000007f, parameter1 0000000d, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000

Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001/1003. Copy the content and paste it back here

Zip 5 to 6 minidumps and attach the zip files here. I will study the dump and find out the culprit.

This is all the .dmp files in the folder. PC worked great all day until I uninstalled/reinstalled the game Americas Army. Then started all over again.

Thank You
BB

Hi BlindBaby,

I've investigated your minidumps. Your windows has a lot of problems.

Software
1. nVidia Display Card Driver is at Feb 02 10:32:30 2002 which is incompatible with XP SP2. Install nVidia Display Driver 61.77. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_61.77.html

2. ZoneAlarm has a lot of software problem which cause BSOD especially the latest 3 version. De-install ZoneAlarm and install another firewall utility.

3. Run Anti_Virus to scan your PC and make sure that it is not infected with Virus

Hardware
1. One of the minidumps reports hardware problem. Probably it is causd by faulty RAM.
BugCheck A, {e01b, 2, 1, 806f2a7c}
Probably caused by : hardware ( nt!KiTrap0E+233 )

2. Your PC crashes with various bugcheck 0A, 19, 24 and 8E. They are the symptoms of faulty RAM.

cpc2004 I got a problem with BCCode as well....:
BCCode: 9c BCP1 : 00000001 BCP2 : 8054D370 BCP3 : F2000000

can you check my dumpfiles and tell me what is wrong with my pc? Do you know where they are supposed to be... I saw the error which told me somewhere in my temp Files.. :|

thanx in advance

[edit] I Found the location of the minidumps... but now I don't know how to place them here :S[edit]

Bugcheck code 9C is machine check exception. It may be caused by faulty CPU, M/B or RAM. You can attach the minidump here but I am not a hardware expert. Maybe some experts can help you.

I got allot of minidumps now :|

Thanks cpc2004!
I changed my vid drivers. I don't see anything called Zone Alarm. Right now I'm using E Trust Firewall from my ISP.
I did have a worm file on here but I'm clean now.
I remove the 2 256mb RAM Stick and am running fine on 1 512mb stick. If things keep working fine I'll replace them with a like 512mb stick.
I go to vacation for 2 weeks so if I make it through tomorrow I won't know more till then.
Thank You Very Much for the help!!!

Hi Blindbaby,

I find vsdatant.sys (ie Zone Alarm) from the minidump and I wonder why you don't know. You had better remove Zone Alarm from your windows to avoid the conflict between Zone Alarm and your current firewall utility.

another error

Just wondering if anyone could shed any light on this one

BCCode : 4e BCP1 : 00000099 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : 00000000
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product

Not very impressed since it's a new laptop and this is one i've ended up with because the first one was faulty.

cheers

Hi Erick,

I think it is bad page spacing. Reallocate the paging space may resolve your problem.

HP Printer G85

I have a HP Printer G85 and a 5 yr old machine hooked up to it. I print a lot of labels form this machine (like 10,000 at a clip). using ms word. Recently i was printing like maybe 1,000 labels and in the middle of the printing, my computer rebooted. I got an erro code involving a BCcode 9C ; BCP1:00000002 BCP2: 8054DA0 BCP3: F6002000 BCP4:0000017A. I also found the dump file. attached is the dmp file as well as a screen shot of the error message. Thank you for your help.

Hi Bishop,

The culprit is CPU. Are you using AMD CPU?

MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION (9c)
A fatal Machine Check Exception has occurred.
KeBugCheckEx parameters;
x86 Processors
If the processor has ONLY MCE feature available (For example Intel
Pentium), the parameters are:
1 - Low 32 bits of P5_MC_TYPE MSR
2 - Address of MCA_EXCEPTION structure
3 - High 32 bits of P5_MC_ADDR MSR
4 - Low 32 bits of P5_MC_ADDR MSR
If the processor also has MCA feature available (For example Intel
Pentium Pro), the parameters are:
1 - Bank number
2 - Address of MCA_EXCEPTION structure
3 - High 32 bits of MCi_STATUS MSR for the MCA bank that had the error
4 - Low 32 bits of MCi_STATUS MSR for the MCA bank that had the error
IA64 Processors
1 - Bugcheck Type
1 - MCA_ASSERT
2 - MCA_GET_STATEINFO
SAL returned an error for SAL_GET_STATEINFO while processing MCA.
3 - MCA_CLEAR_STATEINFO
SAL returned an error for SAL_CLEAR_STATEINFO while processing MCA.
4 - MCA_FATAL
FW reported a fatal MCA.
5 - MCA_NONFATAL
SAL reported a recoverable MCA and we don't support currently
support recovery or SAL generated an MCA and then couldn't
produce an error record.
0xB - INIT_ASSERT
0xC - INIT_GET_STATEINFO
SAL returned an error for SAL_GET_STATEINFO while processing INIT event.
0xD - INIT_CLEAR_STATEINFO
SAL returned an error for SAL_CLEAR_STATEINFO while processing INIT event.
0xE - INIT_FATAL
Not used.
2 - Address of log
3 - Size of log
4 - Error code in the case of x_GET_STATEINFO or x_CLEAR_STATEINFO
AMD64 Processors
1 - Bank number
2 - Address of MCA_EXCEPTION structure
3 - High 32 bits of MCi_STATUS MSR for the MCA bank that had the error
4 - Low 32 bits of MCi_STATUS MSR for the MCA bank that had the error
