I can't believe it...My laptop: HP 530 built with azalia codec, intel high def.
I just plugged in my mono speaker built-with-amplifier in the headphone input. (the drivers for sound were installed and there were just 2 inputs: headphone and mic) After I plugged the amplifier's cable out, there was a buzzy-unsmooth and distorted sound in one of the speakers of my laptop.(when I tried to listen a song, the sound was mono, buzzy, with distortion and I couldn't understand anything) And there appears to be no sign of life for the headphones input..
To conclude is there anything to do? Did I really f**** it up?

No,don`t commit suicide...........yet !

So your laptop sound was workin fine, then you plugged an amplifier into

the headphone jack, and now all you get is a buzzy distorted sound from

the onboard speaker, and nothin from the headphone socket ?

It sounds like you killed it..........commit suicide !

But first, look HERE and check out PMCIA and USB solutions.
