Beijing is moving forward with controversial social rating system

I actually think these kinds of systems are interesting, I wish the internet had something like that from the start to "rate" users and if every online service had a rating there would be way less trolling, hacking and cheating in games.

Of course it can be exploited and abused, but that applies to everything in life. That's not a good enough reason to not do something.

This is something that at first glance looks like a horrible human rights violation.

But then thinking about it, I've known people who are simply incapable of making good life decisions because they have no checks and balances about what they do. And a good hunk of my tax dollar goes to supporting/enabling those people.

So if I (we) could be guaranteed a fair and equitable scoring system, based on completely non-biased criteria, I'd be willing to listen to arguments about implementing a program like this.

This like many ideas are good in theory but in practice never work out. Power corrupted, Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Yes I know said a thousand times, but it's very relevant. Who ever is programming these algorithms and who ever had control over them will use it for control and manipulation of others. Too much power in too few hands is always a bad thing.

And this is what Google is being paid to implement. You know western socialist democracies are supporting this, at least in secret. China is where it's all being tested for the globalist agenda.

Except that it is impossible to implement in a normal country. Who is going to decide the points system? Why is something worth more or less? Not to mention the simple fact that some crimes, even though may be similar, have very different consequences. The same with rewards.

FYI you don't pay taxes to support people, you pay taxes to support a system (country) that works for the whole group (citizens). Even the voting systems aren't fair, don't expect taxes to be fair too :D
