belkin G+ mimo modem router and cordless phones

my belkin modem router loses connectivty when my binatone phones are plugged in even though iam using ethernet connection and have installed splitters on all phones. i am considering selling my modem router - currys would not take it back -they say they cannot resell it because of the wep code - what does this mean. if i sold it would it mean someone could hack into my computer if i had a different model -netgear is supposed to eliminate this problem. i could buy bt dect phones -they apparently dont interfere as much. any advice particularly about security issue if i sell the modem router
