Hey, well I'm looking to upgrade the video card in my Dell 8200 series...I'll be building up a whole new system later on so I don't want to spend that much on a video card right now. I'd like it to be $100 or less or a little over $100 is fine too (excluding shipping).

I'd like this card to run quake 4 (comes out today :D) smoothly. Not necessarily on highest settings, but on normal or low. Just want high fps so I get smooth gameplay in multi and single.

Right now I'm looking at the evga 6200 256mb or the radeon 9600xt 256mb...which of one of these should I get or what other card(s) should I consider?

Thanks for the suggestions :)

It's safe to assume you have an AGP slot given you list the 9600-series, right?

If so, $126 after mail-in rebate: (6600GT!)

Other than that, your choice of the 9600XT is a good alternative. I'd stick to Sapphire though, which you can find for like $90-$95 on NewEgg for 256mb AGP models.

I'd skip the 6200 as you can find 6600-series for your price range.

You can also get a Radeon X700 for under $110 at Newegg. But the 6600GT will perform better in Quake 4 because of the Doom engine.
