bgates[1].exe & win68.tmp

I keep on getting messages from norton indicating I have dialers and trojan horse viruses on my comptuer, it indicates an .exe program in my temporary internet files and a win.tmp in my windows temp directory. Norton deletes the files but they keep on coming back. There must be some active program running that keeps generating these files but I cannot locate it and Norton and spybot cannot seem to locate it. Can someone please help?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Run a full system scan with your antivirus programme and delete whatever it finds.

Reboot into normal mode and turn systemn restore back on.

Then, go HERE and follow the instructions exactly.

Post a fresh HJT log as an attachment into this thread, only after doing the above.

I did what you told me, for some reason explorer.exe would not load in safe mode so I had to run norton through the command prompt, it found four files and deleted them. I attached the logfile to this post.

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

Clock3WP.exe
SemanticInsight.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SemanticInsight] C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\Semantic Insight\SemanticInsight.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Clock3WP] C:\Program Files\Clock3WP\Clock3WP.exe

O16 - DPF: {49232000-16E4-426C-A231-62846947304B} (SysData Class) - http://ipgweb.cce.hp.com/rdqnbk/downloads/sysinfo.cab

O18 - Filter: text/html - {2AB289AE-4B90-4281-B2AE-1F4BB034B647} - C:\Program Files\RXToolBar\sfcont.dll

O21 - SSODL: incestuously - {03413bf7-e34c-445b-bfc0-a2b127255871} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\urroxtl.dll (file missing)

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\WINDOWS\system32\urroxtl.dll
C:\Program Files\RXToolBar
C:\Program Files\Clock3WP

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.

Post a fresh HJT log.

I followed your instructions, Clock 3wp is a program a friend of mine wrote that counts down to whatever date you choose, it's a safe program so I did not delete it or have hijack this "fix" it.
