my pc keeps on giving me problems,yesterday i shutdown my pc i turned it on again and nothing it shows me the bios information and keep on restarting over and over and over i tried every thing and nothing is working .
i suspect may the problem be from the cmos battery.

and then what?

if you can start from the cd, you can do a repair install. if you can't start from the cd, do this:

get a 98 floppy boot disk from www.bootdisk.com
start your pc with boot disk in the machine
select option "with cd rom support"
put xp cd in the cd rom drive
navigate to cd rom drive
if your cd rom drive is d:
type d: and enter
if it's e:
type e: and enter
type cd i386 and enter
once you're i386 directory,
type winnt.exe and enter
this should start xp install process
you should choose a repair install, not a full install,
a full install will wipe out your data.
