Bios on fx 60

ok guys i am a novice so plz bear wih me.
problem is i am trying to upgrade my bios settings on a a8n32sli deluxe. when i try to open the new unzipped file my pc cant open it?
it sends me on line to try and see what file it is.
the file is a FILExt . On my desktop i get a small white box with what looks like 3 coloured dots to which the pc cant open?

any help would be great

You need the flash utility that goes with it. Check where you got the BIOS update from, under BIOS-Utilities. It's called ASUS EZ Flash, scroll to the bottom of the overview page for a description, you might want to check out the ASUS CrashFree BIOS2 as well (just in case).
