Bios password

I was tired of always booting up with my bios password, so I went into the bios password settings. I put in my old password and then hit "enter" for my new password then "enter" again to confirm. Now when I boot, the "enter password" comes up and using enter or my old password doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Provided your system is not a laptop, do the following.

Turn off your system and unplug it from the mains.

Open the side panel and take out the cmos battery for a few minutes. Replace the cmos battery and close the side panel.

Reconnect to the mains and start your system.

Your bios will now be set to the defaults, so you may need to enter your bios and reset some settings.

I forgot to mention my computer is a Acer Ferrari Laptop, anything I can do to reset my bios password?

Oh dear, in that case, you might be as well contacting Acer and asking them.

Yes I have sent them an email, but I don't expect an answer anytime soon.
