Can anyone tell me how to get my PC to boot to a new sata hard drive. My Motherboard is about 2 years old it's an P4VP-MX.The board does not have on board sata input slots. So I have installed an CreativeI/O SATA controller card. I hooked my hard drive to the motherboard as per the card instruction. The Bios does not see the I/O card for me to boot to the new sata hard drive. Will updating the BIOS fix this or what do I need to do? any help will be wonderful.

Thanks, Papajoeelder

Add-in cards should look like SCSI to the system BIOS, so that's what you should set in the boot order.

A booting add-in card should also display its own BIOS messages during POST. If you don't see anything from the Creative card, then maybe that adapter can't boot from hard drives at all?
