Just recently I have upgrade from XP to Vista and since then I have been getting BSOD's. I never had them using XP and now its frequently happening while playing games.

This is the error Vista gave me on reboot:

Try running that game(s) in XP compatibility mode with disable desktop composition checked. Which game(s) are doing this? I don't play many but the ones I do run all run great.

Probably it is related to faulty memory. One minidump is insufficient to find out the root cause. Attach 5 to 6 minidumps here.

Vista BSOD... help!!!

I have a Compaq PresarioC503WM running Vista Home Basic and recently I've had two instances of the blue screen of death. For what it's worth, I've noticed that both times it was when I'd put the computer to "sleep." Here's the problem report I got:

Problem signature:
Problem event name: Blue Screen (REALLY?!)
OS Ver: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.2
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: a
BCP1: 07FFFFFC
BCP2: 0000001B
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 81CAD9BB
OS Version: 6_0_6000
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

Also it gave me the "Files that help describe the problem" but I don't know how to open the .dmp files. I would appreciate any help or pointers!!!

Krista, the best thing you can do for us to help is for you to start your own thread and attach your minidumps. There is an attachment button at the bottom.

Thanks, Route44. I started a thread and put the error report and my minidumps there. The thread is called "Vista Home Basic sleep BSOD" Thanks!
