Hi, I run my Registry First Aid a while back and it of course came up with several registry files that weren't needed and I clicked fix it and they were gone.
When I rebooted, it would get as far as the wallpaper and quit. No start bar, no My Computer, nothing. After totally freaking out and coming to my senses I rebooted in safe mode and did a registry restore from Registry first aid, putting everything I had just deleted back into the registry. When my computer came back, All of my System restore points were gone. As long as I leave these entries there, my computer is fine, but I would like to clean it out.
I'm not sure where I got this "bonjour", but I think I had deleted the file folder in my Program files somewhere along the way.
What is it and how do I get rid of it safely?

Thanks for any help.

ISP.com is my internet service provider
Bonzi, I know is spyware and is blocked in my firewall, reminds me of schedules
Market Browser keeps track of stocks
Omni page, I'm not exactly sure, but pretty sure it has something to do with my scanner

I have moved your thread to the correct forum.

Your system is infected with a variety of nasties.

Go and read the Trojan Pakes and other nasties preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT and AVG Antispyware logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Regards Howard :)

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

MarketBrowser
Dap

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

mktbrws.exe
DLHelperEXE.exe
PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

Hi Howard,

Thanks so much for your help. "Bonjour" is gone and it boots normally again.
I ran thru everything in your last post. The only thing going wrong, and it's more of an annoyance than anything is, if I go into my Control Panel/Display and click the Screensaver tab and try to change it to "none", click Apply, it will automatically switch it to another screensaver, right now its going to the Windows XP Logo. Any Idea why?

Linda

Have HJT fix these inactive entries.

O2 - BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\ssv.dll (file missing)

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\ssv.dll (file missing)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\ssv.dll (file missing)

Other than the above, your HJT log is clean.

I suggest you uninstall Java from add remove programmes, then install the latest version from HERE.

You should also uninstall Webshots as it`s known to put adware on your computer.

I`m not sure what`s causing your screensaver problem.

Right click your desktop and select properties. Select the screensaver tab and see if you can set it to none. If not, I have no further ideas on that problem.

Maybe you should open a new thread for your screensaver problem in our Windows OS forum.
