hay. i have an old computer that i want to use as linux dedicated box.
it's an athlon 1.2ghz actualy, but that's kinda old now, i also run it in 900mhz cause chipset fan not working either.

anyway, i have a problem with my video card, it's a gefroce 4xxx series card, and it's fan+heat sink are not on it, it get pretty hot, i dunno if it can work for long time this way, i reduced in bios AGP config to x1, but i don't think it will help much.

motherboard not have onboard video.

i though maybe there's a way, after i will install linux on it n' all to just disable somehow the video device and just boot it without.

is such thing is possible? maybe via jumper settings?

any other advice will be welcomed.

okay, another question then, if no screen connected to the video card exit, the GPU still work the same as if a monitor was connected?

Yes,
but how would you be able to do anything with the system in this state? Mental telepathy...
