Boot Error: System Halted

I turn my Gateway PC, bought 2002, and it loads to a screen thats say GATEWAY in big green letters and asks three things at the bottom. After clicking and sounding like it has diarreah it will load this error 10 seconds later.

Boot Failure: System Halted

Now it will load if i go to F1 when it says gateway and then exit without saving configurations. And sometimes it will load if i just wait, but when it does load everything will run slow and freeze and eventually get on my nerves to the point were i just turn it off. whats wrong? what should i do?

for some reason looks like boot from a nic or network card
go to bios check boot setting priority if system is standard ide not sata
must or should be hdd 1st and if there is option it should be 0 drive
then cdrom drive
if sata there will be separte page to config ide channel boot or sata channel
