Guyz, I'm on the edge of suicide! My boot sequence takes more than 5 minutes, and listen, I don't have anything special on my PC. I own a PENT4 Toshiba Dynabook (japanese laptop) with 1gig of RAM, blablabla. I also scan for viruses ALL the time, kill my spy ware...I am paranoid. But then, my PC turned into a senile 80 years old with crotches. What the hell is going on.

Take a look at what is running on my PC .. I have no clue why I have so many SVhost.

Frank

"boot sequence" is misleading. To me, it means the mobo BIOS. In your case, it should be "Windows". From the screenie, the 2000/XP region is set as French. There are so many processes. 5 mins aren't bad. Wait til you see how long it takes to log onto Netware on my campus Compaq computer with 256mb ram, and endlessly growing # of useless start-up apps. It feels as if it's reinstalling Windows at boot. lol. And students are probably the most demanding users. I wouldn't be surprised if the admin has 2 gig of ram and p4 3.0 ghz or faster.

svhost is normal. I have 4. I think this post belongs elsewhere. Do a hijackthis scan, and post the log.
