Booting from Sata Drive

I have a problem with my Computer booting from the Sata drive. Over this last weekend, the old 20GB Western Digital EIDE gave out. there was very little information on this drive, so no big loss.

I took the IDE drive out of the CPU, restarted and the cpmputer tried to boot from the network. the Sata drive does detect correctly. and the information is still there. But no boot.

I think the problem orginally start when I Reloaded the OS with the IDE drive still hooked up. I think some of the boot information was contained there.

Can the OS on the Sata be salvaged? I Don't mind reloading the OS(Pain in the ****), and I have another Drive on the way so I don't lose any data, but would be nice if I can salvage the OS. thank for you time.....the Specs on my system is below.

AMD Athlon 2.4
ASUS A7Nx8 Deluxe(Sound, two NICs, and Sata integrated)
Asus 7700 128MB AGP Video card.
Western Digital 120GB Sata hard drive
Western Digital 20 GB(taken out, but part of the original system
Sony DVD drive 8X
NEC DVD RW+/- 16X
512 MB DDR Ram
Windows XP SP2

You could try a Windows repair from the Windows cd, but your best bet may be to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows.
