Something to look forward to: Gearbox dropped their strongest hint yet of a Borderlands 3 reveal at PAX East. The company posted on Twitter an image of a highway sign, in the classic Borderlands cel shaded graphical style, along with "March 28" and "Boston, MA."

A real, bona fide Borderlands sequel is seemingly nearing release. Gearbox posted a teaser on their Twitter page that leaves no chance of misinterpretation. The familiar Borderlands font reads "March 28", with the cel shaded background and "exit 3" being the cherries on top.

This hint follows news last week of Gearbox scheduling an event in the main theater at PAX East during the first day of the event. While details on the possible release date of BL3 have been tough to nail down, parent company Take Two Interactive did reveal that a "major release" was being pushed back to fiscal year 2020 in a financial report. That report has since been taken down, so it's possible that a quicker launch is in the cards.

Randy Pitchford, Gearbox CEO, confirmed the existence of the next Borderlands all the way back at PAX East 2016. In 2017, Pitchford showed off the below tech demo of the game at the Game Developers Conference. It was reported five months ago that the game had completed main development and was undergoing localization, which is one of the final steps before release.

PAX East runs March 28-31 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Is it bad all I can think of is all the ways they'll screw over gamers with some dlc/preorder/exclusive nonsense.

Yeah no.

The first was meh, the second I felt was pretty good, with far more variation.

But the pre-sequel had the same "repeating landscapes and characters" the first game had.

Given pitchford's ability to screw things up, the 4th game will likely be a lootbox hellhole. Or just completely broken and unplayable, with pitchford blaming gamers for expecting a working game.

It is to be expected. Why do I have more respect for Polish/Ukrainian developers at this time than anyone else?
Because eastern european countries havent subscribed to the "all and any effort is worthy of praise" BS that encompass the West these days, They are not afraid to call a spade a spade, and thus game developers are still expected to deliver an actual product.

Another epic store exclusive wait for game of the year edition anyway, as they tend to have tons of DLC .

I enjoyed the first.

I ignored the sequel.

I probably will ignore the third.

I am currently playing through all the main games. About a month ago I played through #1 then I moved onto #2, completed this twice in a row playing vault hunter mode. I have to say say number 2 was far far FAR superior to number 1. I am now currently playing through the pre-sequel, this one is "interesting". I'd say its just a load of Aussies and Asians pissing about, quite "hmmmm" voice acting with some silly dialogue, but so far the story is interesting, I like how its evolving into how number 2 became.

I am pretty sure #3 will be one my shopping list.
