Browser Choices - How does Avant add up?

Ok, I know about all the dangers of using IE. I've been hit and I've been warned.

I did NOT have good luck with Firefox. Only about half my windows would load.

At work we use Avant. (www.avantbrowser.com. I find it very convenient- tabbed browsing and windows compatible (I had such a bugger of a time getting the windows genuine validation to work with Firefox but had no problem today with Avant)

So I'm thinking of using Avant to replace IE as my main browser at home. (Can't be any worse I suppose, and Active X is easily disabled) However because it is based on the same structure as IE rather than the Netscapish basis of Firefox, I wanted to get opinions from the experts.

Anyone familiar with Avant? How is it safety-wise? It got good reviews on Cnet, but I want YOUR input!

Avoid it like the plague, same as IE. As you noted already, it's just a pretty dress for IE, but it is still IE.
