BsoD error...

recently i've been getting a BsoD error saying...

Machine_check_exception error/stop: 0x0000009c (0x00000000, 0x80540570, 0xA2000000, 0x84010400)

I have an Intel P4 2.6GHz, 512 MB of Ram, Nivida G-Force fx-5500 video card. I only get this error when I try to boot up my comp. And when I try to boot up my comp. I get this error then it just restarts my comp and about after 10-15 times of the computer restarting it finnally goes into windows. Can anyone offer a diagnosis & solution? Thanks.

Howard Hopkinson dealt with a very similar thread about 18 months ago - it is a hardware issue and best dealt with by elimination. First swap out the memory modules (if there are two - try them one at a time to see if one is faulty), then the graphics card.
You could also reset the motherboard back to default by shorting out the jumper - check the manual for where it is.
