Burner don't burn as fast as it should...

I just bought a new dvd burner u can see it in my profile or here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827131256 also I use nero to burn everything and it says it can burn cd-r at 48x but the fastest I can ever get it to burn is 40x I don't know how I can go about fixing this...

Hey TDawg, I think don't quote me, 40X is the default speed it will go i know it says 48X burning, if my lack knowledge serves me right the way to get it to go 48X is to push the eject on the drive and push it again, hold it for 5 seconds to engage the ultra speed. let i stated before this info is coming from a newbie. i hope others with Big brains will respond to this thread in question, be nice.
