This has prob been asked 1000001 times but here goes.

I want to play AVI files without having to stare at my CPU screen. So, i was wondering if the following equiptment would be sufficient enough for me to play avi/DVDs on my TV:

Div-X / DVD Player

DVD RW

any help would be most appreciated!

There is some question as to the compatibility of the DK Digital DVD 339. If you read the site below, they seem not to be convinced that it will work 100% with DVD+R as opposed to DVD-R. If you are going to purchase the Philips DVD recorder for your PC, you might encounter problems. The Philips in question burns in only one DVD format and thats DVD+R. Whether you choose to record your media in + or - is up to you. I chose to record all my DVD media in DVD-R format because of its stability and compatibility with the recorders and players I use.
