Buying a new computer

I'm fixing to put together a gaming computer for myself. I only have $1000. So what I'm asking is, if you had $1000, what parts would you buy to make the best gaming computer?

You also have to take into consideration of buying a hard drive, motherboard, and a shell. So it's not like I can afford the best video card and sound card with $1000. I just want to see if you guys can be creative and help me out a little bit.

Do you need a monitor? If not it's pretty easy to make a good gaming PC with $1000. You could probably get all of it at NewEgg.com.

You can get a good system for 1000 dollors
ill assume you DONT need a monitor, keyboard,mouse, speakers
but if you do you need about 200 to cover those
